I just wanted to share my experiences about droopy eyelid and eyebrows.

I have had botox twice now to diminish frown lines on my forehead.

The first time I had botox was on the 14th of October 2008 and I experienced eyebrow droop with both eyebrows the next day. I looked tired and angry. There was not much room on my eyelid to put eyeshadow. The effects started to wear off after about 6 weeks. After 8 weeks my eyebrows were back to normal. I had 12 units injected in my forehead not including between the brows.

The second time I had botox was 9 days ago on the 6th of February 2009. I had expressed my concerns about the previous eyebrow droop and was told that it was injected too close to my eyebrows. This time I didn't have it injected above my eyebrows but had it injected between my brows. I was told that injecting botox between the brows reduces the risk of eyebrow droop. I was shown a chart of the muscles in the face and how they work.

I was really happy with the result and even happier that I had not experienced the eyebrow droop this time BUT low and behold, 9 days later I wake up in the morning and my left eyelid has drooped to just above my pupil. My other eye is fine but my left eye looks tired. Nobody has really noticed it until I have pointed it out to them. I bought naphazoline hydrochloride eyedrops which are just your standard red eye drops and they do seem to help a little bit. It took 7 days for my eyelid to droop and I'm worried that it's going to get worse.

Can anybody tell me if it does get worse after noticing it for the first time or does it get better from here?

I'm thinking that my face can't handle Botox for some reason as other friends of mine have had no complaints. Or could it be that the person administering the botox is not experienced enough with the workings of the facial muscles?

Hi Jasmine - yes i have experienced exactly the same thing. I first had botox in May 2008, then again at the end of sept 08 - both times i suffered from disappearing eyelids - i just didn't seem to have anywhere to put eyeshadow! it was most bizarre. Like you, it did wear off after about 6 weeks - but i felt i was wishing away the period that it was effective- which just seems a total waste of money. Those 2 times i just had injections in my glabella, with maybe a couple in my upper brow area - the doctor did say that to acheive the best effect i should have my forehead done as well - at that time i couldn't afford to have that as well, so i didn't. I have just had another botox treatment (19th feb), with a different doctor, i explained about my concerns with my eye's, and this time i did have my forehead done as well. Hmm...have just been looking at my eye's in the mirror, and i have no eyelids again! and i have a strange 'winged' effect in the outer upper corner's of my brow's, if you know where I mean - i hate the way i look, i look like a snake. I usually have big, roundish eye's - and i just dont look like me at the moment. Like you, I'm thinking, is my face shape just not suited to botox?? Do i have to sacrifice my nice eye's in order to have a wrinkle free forehead - i'm not sure it's worth it. I have to back after 2 weeks, where he will 'top-up if necessary - but i dont want any more injections. So now i have to just wait for the next 5 or 6 weeks to hurry up and go by........not good really. [/img]

It has been one week since I had 29 units total injected into my forehead and btwn my eyes. The Dr. told me the worst thing that could happen would be a droopy eyelid which eyedrops would fix immediately. But the next day I had a drooped brow and no eyelids. I went back to my Dr. and he acted like it was no big deal and said it would go away. I asked when - in a few months? And he said no, in about 3 weeks. I said I wouldn't have done this if YOU had PAID me to look like this! I now have green bruises on my forehead that cover up won't cover, am experiencing memory loss and cognitive problems, jitters...
I read somewhere on here that steam rooms help so I'm going to Bikram yoga and today I'm trying acupuncture on my forehead. I'll let you know if that works; so far nothing has. Have you asked your dr. for your money back? Are you aware that there is a class action law suit being put together against Allergen?

I am having the same problem. I had Botox two weeks ago today for horizontal forehead wrinkles. It has four years since the first and only other time I had Botox.

During that experience, the plastic surgeon really blasted my forehead with a lot of Botox and the bilateral brow droop happened two days later. I followed all the instructions (didn't rub injection sites, didn't recline, etc.) but it still happened. I went back and he injected near the outside of my brows to counteract the scary lift I was getting. The scary lift was no longer there but it did not help my droop. It took almost four months to wear off and I ruined by friend's wedding pictures during that time with my awful appearance! I tried both the oral drops and the prescription eye drops. They were zero help to me.

So after four years I tried again with a facial plastic surgeon this time, renowned for knowing his stuff. Unfortunately, I think it's more my face and not their skill level, although I know that's important, because I have bilateral brow droop again. This doctor was very very conservative based on what I told him happened last time, injecting only the top half of my forehead and not using very much and leaving everything else alone. Four days later, my eyes were only half open. I went back in on day five and he said injections between my brows and near the outer corners should counteract it. Well, the only thing I can lift now is my left eyebrow's outer edge - into a little wing - and the rest is totally frozen. My eyes are really bad in the morning and later at night, not as bad during the day but still awful. I cannot wear much eye makeup as I have no lid to put shadow on and must lift my lid manually to apply anything. My right eye is the worse one, same as last time.

So, I guess I'm an idiot for doing it again. I only hope the fact that I didn't have as much this time means I won't have to wait the whole four months to be back to normally (mostly) like last time. He wants to see me again tomorrow to - get this - inject more. There is no way I'm letting him but do want him to see what he's done, in case it helps another patient.

Botox - never again. I'll just have a really wrinkled forehead at 37 I guess. :-(

It's been almost 8 months now and I'm still having problems. I've had botox injected to me twice. First time around, I only asked for it to be injected to my frown lines. I had no problems at all and the results were amazing. Second time around I was only going to have it done for my frown lines again but the doctor somehow convinced me I should have my forehead done as well. I don't know why I agreed as I didn't have any lines on my forehead that bothered me. Now this has turned out to be the biggest mistake I have ever made in my life.

Now I am planning to redo it again and I had found this clinic and their post, and I would try again to have a Botox treatment and I hope this time it could be fix.

I've had botox about 3 to 4 times a year for 12 years and just had my first droopy left eyelid. It's been droopy for 2 weeks and I look like a stroke victim or a victim of Bell's palsy. It will be a long time before I have another botox injection. Apparently this happens 1 out of 20 injections so I was due. I will let you all know when I can open my left eye. It looks "sick" right now.

22 days after injection and I look terrible this morning. I want a t-shirt that says "I'm not drunk, just over-botoxed."

I had botox for my forehead lines on Apr 1st 2010, immediately afterwards my eyebrows drooped covering nearly all the skin of my eyelids. Now a year later they are still the SAME even though the botox must have worn off as my forehead lines are back to the way they were before the botox!

I have recently had botox injection 2 weeks ago, 4-5 days after the injection, I developed severe left lid ptosis, I tried the aproclonidine and visine A for allergy, without much improvement. I am devastated by this, the doctor who did the injection also used juvederm in order to lift the lid up 7 days post botox injection. Now it has been 2 wks and 3 days, I still have yet to see any improvement. Ptosis is so severe, at time it is almost drops down completely when i am tired. Eye drop does make me feel better (not having so heavy feeling on my eye lid) but does not seem to lift the eye lid up.
Is there anything you can suggest? Or I should just wait it out? Will I get better at all? I really hate myself for doing this. This is the most awful thing I ever done! Feeling so stupid and depressed!
Anyone had similar experience? Please post and help each other out.
