Will breast implants sacrifice nipple sensation?

I want breast implants more than my husband does. Ive always wanted larger breasts. But I have a couple of concerns:

1. My nipple sensation is am important part of our sex life and I dont want to loose that sensation. Ive heard some say nipple sensitivity is lost on a temporary basis, while my OB/Gyn says it could be permanent. Any advice, experience?

2. I want kids in a few years. What about breast feeding?

3. For those who have implants, is there regular maintenance? I hear that women have to get them adjusted every decade or so. Is this true?

Thanks for any advice or testimonials.

I received implants 15 years ago. As far as the nipple sensation being lost...it's a real possibility. I didn't lose it all, but definately NOT the same. Breast feeding should be fine. I've had 2 kids since my surgery. I chose not to breast feed the first, but did the second.
Adjustment? I have silicone so I don't have to do that. However, I did find out recently that implants need to be replaced about every 10-15 years. Big disappointment for me!!

Hope this helps...

Any other women out there experience loss of nipple sensation? If so, was it permanent or temporary?

And, what about the periodic adjustments?

I want, I want, I want them but am so indecisive.

2 ladies I know claim that sensitivity has been increased since the surgery. Not sure if it's placebo effect or what, but that's what they claim.

I've not had any loss of sensation. Actually, if anything it was increased.

On the second topic, I'm going to quote myself here. I hope some of my experience is helpful to you.

I can't give you any info on going outside of the US for surgery, but I had implants put in 15 years ago. Since then I have had several friends go through the procedure as well.

I am 5'9" and have a medium to large frame. I wear a DD. That sounds huge, but on my frame it works. At this point I would not want to be any bigger, and I would not want to be any smaller than a D.

I had very little pain and my post op care was excellent. In five years or so, I will be having them redone. Remember, breast implants are a product, so somewhere 10-30 years down the line you may need to have them replaced. I am having mine redone simply because when mine were done they were placed OVER muscle. For my body this looks very natural. As a matter of fact, if I don't tell people I have implants they don't know. The trouble with going over the muscle, which is not done very often now, is that large breasts--natural or implants--sag over time. I do not have excessive sagging even now, BUT I want to have them done anyway. I will be having a lift with these implants removed and having new ones put in under muscle. I intend to go to a large D, so only people who are close to me will even know anything was done.

I will be using the same doctor.

Also, I had mine done after children, but one of my best friends nursed both her children without complication after having augmentation.

I just had breast augmentation 2 weeks ago, and my nipples are hypersensitive. I love my new boobs, but I do hope the sensitivity decreases. Someone please tell me they won't be this sensitive forever! Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it last?

I don't think so. As long as it won't affect the nervous system.

I think it happens more than what the drs. say. I have both nipples almost completely numb, along with about 1/3 of my entire breast. I had 350 cc's under the muscle. I would have never done it if I had of known this would have happened.

After having surgery my nipples were very sensitive and still remain that way after 3 years! I no longer like that area of my breasts being touched as it makes me cringe because of this....However to me this was a small price to pay as I loved my new breasts!

The temporary loss or decrease in sensation can be due to swelling. But as the swelling subsides the sensation will return. There is a possibility though that you may experience a change in the sensitivity of your nipples. For super sensitive nipples, you can desensitize it by gently rubbing your nipples with cotton ball for the sensitivity to disappear.

I had my breast implant done a few years back in Argentina (with gosculptura.com) and my nipples were super sensitive. I had to do the rubbing for the sensitivity to get back to normal. I am so happy with my boobs that even the sensitivity cannot suppress the feeling.

The swelling after a breast augmentation procedure will affect the sensitivity of your nipple. You may loss some and you may lose it all. There are cases where it has increased. Good luck.

After a breast implants surgery two sensation are possible,, either you can have a loss of sensitivity:
in the nipple or the surrounding skin. This usually subsides within a few weeks. In rare cases, however, loss of sensation can be permanent. As sensation returns to your nipples and breasts, you may experience sharp pains, itchiness, heat, tingling and prickling. These temporary sensations occur because nerve function is returning.
or an Oversensitivity on your nipple area.
Many women complain of very erect and sensitive nipples after breast implant surgery. You can protect your nipples by using a Band-Aid (especially the large round ones), large corn pads, or nursing pads. These pads will protect your overly sensitive nipples from the abrasiveness of your clothing and shield your erect nipples.
About breastfeed..
Studies have shown that silicone in the breast milk of women with any type of breast implants are not higher than in those without breast implants. Many women have no problem breastfeeding with breast implants.

All these sensations or complications such as allergic reaction, capsular contraction will depend on each person. I know many women who have had a breast implants surgery done and they never had any sensation of loss of sensibility, neither an oversensitivity and the majority of them didn’t have any problem breastfeeding. Breast implant surgery is one of the most popular plastic surgery performed in the world,,if the problems were common, many woman would never have this surgery. It’s a very safe surgery,, and nowadays the implants don’t have to be changed after 15 years,, silicone implants can last 40 years or more, there are some brands that even give you an unlimited warranty for silicone implants.
I had a breast implants done in south America at MakeoverTravel medical center,, I chose Silmed implants (gel silicone 450ccc) and my surgeon said me I don’t need to change them, I just have to check each 2 years if they still intact with a mammography and that’s all.
in south America this surgery is very affordable ($3,000) that’s the reason why I went there. I am very satisfied with my new breast and I really recommend to everyone this surgery because it made me feel sexier!

Most of the women when tries any remedy for the enlarging the breast face the problem of reduction in nipple sensation. main reason is reduction in Ph level of breast. So always keep in mind during using any product for enlarging the breast there will be no effect on nipple sensation. from stbotanica, I have got that natural products like natural cream is best for enlarging the breast without any side-effects.

Hi,
Any other women out there experience loss of nipple sensation but one of the most common after breast augmentation surgery is having sensitive and sore nipples.....
A new breast implant surgical procedure prevents sore nipples and allows women to breast feed without pain.

Breast pain, breast hardness, and numbness in the nipple are common complications that may last for years, and may never go away. Breast augmentation may interfere with your ability to breastfeed.
