I am looking for as much info as possible concerning lip augmentation.
My wife really wants to get it, and Ill get it for her, but I need
to know what the best stuff to use is, and which application lasts
the longest? Is there avenues other than collagen or fat? Finally,
how safe is this procedure?

Best regards-
:P

There are many other options for lip augmentation. Personally, I use Restylane for my lips because it is the safest and it is long-lasting. It is non-animal so there are no allergic reactions to the product. Mine has lasted for up to 6 months. It's description says 6-9 months, but in the lips with all the movement it breaks down quicker. You can have touch up sessions that make it last longer and they are not as expensive. I am very happy with the results, and it was almost pain-free. I had a dental block prior to the injections and could only feel a little prick from the needle. I would not recommend any permanent fillers because as the face ages they tend to look very awkward. Also be sure for your wife's sake to ask for a non-animal product to avoid the allergy testing. Good Luck!

I think the best would be bioalcamid. Its completely safe, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and permanent.

Hard to get, but clearly the best. Of course the U.S. doctors won't tell you this as it would put a hampering on their repeat business. It would make collagen and restylane extinct.

Do a google search on it.

you are planning to use like collagen etc,. for lip augmentation, have you given a though about a more lasting effect, like some kind of surgery? i hvae this colleague at work who had been wanting to go for lip augmentation for a long time, she even used various products but was not satisfied with the results she got.she was referred to the JD healthcare clinic, the plastic surgery hospital and got herself a total remake of her lips.here is what the costs are like there for lip augmentation [no urls please]. you can always request a [no urls please] and get more details about lip augmentation and the services provided at jd healthcare.

Try Restylane first, then if she likes the results, she can choose a more permenant option, like fat transfer.......that's what I'm doing this Thursday (suggested by my plastic surgeon)

I was told by my plastic surgeon of 30 years experience that Juvaderm is the best. It is made of hydrocloronic Acid (sp?), which is natural in the body (knees, and such) and that it will last a lot longer than restalyn and other products, without lumps, less pain, less swelling, in three different thicknesses for different uses on the face.

I am going to try it tomorrow for my lips and around my nose (I forgot what they call that) and maybe in the corner of my mouth.

I am shocked that there is not very much information on the subject in this forum, because I just finished reading another forum that had tons of information on juvaderm.... and tons of people who have used restalyn and hated restalyn but love juvaderm for all of these reasons.

Just thought I would add that in case someone else comes to the site and everyone is recommending restalyn.... when everywhere else I have read, juvaderm is better.

FYI... everyone seems to ask.... so the price of juvaderm is $500 at my plastic surgeon's office, and at renew skin or whatever the name of the clinic is $600. I don't know those doctors, and don't want ducky lips... so I'm going to someone I know and trust... Dr. Stephen Goldstein in Denver, Colorado.

Best of luck to all of you. Any questions after tomorrow, just let me know.

You may want to read for yourself all the posts from people who have had other injections, such as restalyn, and how much they love juvaderm.

Everyone says it is less painfull, less downtime, lasts longer...

I know you've probably been through this before...but... A few months back I was seriously considering Lip Augmentation, had been through all the paperwork etc...then I tried this product as one last resort before the final thing called 'Lip-Volume' I got mine from www.lip-volume.co.uk I thought it would never work like the other products on the market, but this one actually made my lips so amazing. They increased in size and look so natural. In the end I never went ahead with the surgery. The product is also 100% safe. So I seriously recommend you try this before you go ahead with it, as there are serious risks involved with surgery!!!

I had my lips done a month or six weeks ago, and I love it. I went to a plastic surgeon (Stephen Goldstein in Denver area) who only charged $500 per surenge (sp?), whereas Renew You, a clinic, charges $600 per surenge. I only went to the clinic to see if they also recommended the same, and they did, so I went back to the plastic surgeon who has 30 years experience in the field.

While Steve was injecting my lips, he had me hold a mirror, so that he could confer with what I wanted the entire time. It was quick and easy, not a surgery like someone else mentioned... more like being at the dentist.

First, they numb the inside of your mouth. Then, they inject you as they would inside your mouth at the dentist. Not too bad. I hate needles, but the nurse is so good that it doesn't hurt.

Then, the rest of the procedure is injections to form the lips you want. You can even find a photo of the lips you want and show the doctor, and they will reshape your lips, or go with your shape. Literally, whatever you want. It's easy, and within a few hours, the numbness goes away (again, just like going to the dentist).

Now, juvaderm is not painful like restalyn, and lasts longer than collagen and restalyn combined.... an average of 9 months.

Anyway, while Steve was injecting me, he was telling me how much he enjoys "using" juvaderm. He said he hated using restalyn, it was hard, and difficult to shape, and didn't give the best results without a lot of hard work. The juvaderm is easy for them.

Now, be prepared, because if you only want a little bit, and you have some left over, then there are lines at the corners of your mouth and the lines around your nose, etc., that they can inject at the same time. All this for $500-$600 per needle or surenge (sp?).

My advice? Do it. You'll love your lips. Another thing Steve kept telling me is "you're going to have to beat your husband off of you, he's not going to be able to take his eyes off of you after this!!!"

Downtime? Only a few days. They will be swollen for three to five days, that's it. After the first couple of days, they just keep looking better. There may be some bruising, but you can cover that up with makeup.

PREPARATION: Get some Tylenol and take it as soon as you leave the doctor's office. Within a few hours, when the numbing goes down, you will feel a little discomfort, and without having Tylenol in hand, then you will be a little comfortable... otherwise you won't feel it.

Before going in to the doctor's office, take Benadryl a few hours before going in, and then again just before walking into the office. This will reduce the swelling, so that they don't swell too much.... and then, as soon as you walk out the door, take it again. They have sheets you can put under your tongue and dissolve instantly, which is what I used.

Look at your face and see if you need a little on the sides of your nose and the corners of your mouth, and let them know if there is any left over, that you definitely want them to inject some here and there.

If you have wrinkles in these areas, it would be worth your while to ask them to ensure that they inject those areas at the same time. It won't take any extra time, and you will look like a new person, guaranteed.... even if it takes two surenges ($1,000 or $1,200) you will be so glad that you did!!!!!

Any questions, I'll be notified if you respond to this post, and I'll be happy to elaborate.

I love my lips!!! I only did a little bit, but I was losing collagen and my lips were getting thinner..... and they look so natural, and so good.... I just love them and would recommend JUVADERM to anyone.

I forgot to tell you that Juvaderm is very safe. It is the same natural substance in your joints, knees, etc., called hydrocloronic acid (sp?).

It lasts longer than anything else out there, and is the safest, easiest, and most pain free.

Any questions, just ask me, okay?

By the way, they replaced restalyn with juvaderm, for the reasons I mentioned above. Out with the old and in with the new, better version that will last longer and is natural, with no side effects.

There is actually a new procedure that doesn't use any foreign materials, simply, no injections what so ever. Is like a tummy tuck compared to liposuction, except with lips. It is called a lip lift, and is one of the more inexpensive surgeries you can get. I'm not sure of the exact price, but I do know that it is much less than any form of injection.

Is that like a breast lift where they have to reconstruct your lips? No thank you. I'm very pleased with juvederm.

Lip aumentation has become so common, undoubdly puffy lips gives sensational looks.if you see many celebrities have gne thru wid lip enhancement.I would say Restalyne is the best for this..I myself have seen the drastic results after LA. Your wife should go for it and she will really look superb wid it.

My girl freind had it done by Dr Jennifer Levine..And we both are very happy with the results.. If you are somewhere in NY or NJ then go for www.drjenniferlevine.com or www.bnbmedispa.com..
You will see the pictures of the clients who had it done or at www.bnbmedispa.com, you can check out the live procedures, which will help you to decide

Lip augmentation procedure provides you with fuller, more beautiful lips and helps to preserve your youthful appearance. The required healing process for lip enhancement and facial rejuvenation are different for each individual. It is therefore important to express your desired results accurately.
