HI.i had 500 units of dysport 4months ago because of excessive sweating in my hands and under arms.but after 10days my flue like symptoms started and after 20days it was very hard for me to stand up alone.i had swallowing and breathig problems which kept me at hospital for 8days.
now 4months is past but i still have nausea and irregular heartbeating.because of these feelings i dont like to go out of house even for 1hour.i wanted to know is anybody with such a nausea because of botox?and i know that the healing time is different in different bodies but is it possible to last more than 6 months?

Hi Elnaz11,
Yes , unfortunatly the revovery time could take uptill 18 months.Iam in the 9. months since my last Botox and Iam still suffering from some symptoms.Weird dizzyness, balance problem, irregular heartbeats , breading problem ....ect.
The most important do not take any medication , because its crassing with the Botox and make the symptoms worse.
Read my story : Never ever botox again -2,3,4,5 and so many of us here suffered from the Botox longterm side effects which is unproofable so the Allergan manufature totally ignored my letter of reporting my situation.Thousands are out there who are suffering some depression or nerve related illnesses and they do not know that their illnesses are from Botox.Neither did I for a long time. The blood test does not showing anything, but you feel awfull.
Where are you based?
Get better soon!

You too get better soon.Yes after 6 months there is a huge recovery, all the nerve attacks and doubble visions, Demoni symptoms were gone.
Luckly you had only one botox treatment and you had the symptoms straightaway. My situation was a little different , I had 4 treatments and my body was poisoned slowly in 2 years untill it could not take it anymore.I did not realized neither my doctors that my illnesses were from the Botox.
I wish you all the Best and Health.Keep in touch. Maria |

I do feel for you and hope you get well soon. What I want to take issue with is blaming something for the way you feel based on a relationship in time. We often associate cause and effect when one event (the "effect") follows in time from the other event (the "cause"). How many times do you blame what you ate on a stomach ache? It could well be a stomach virus or appendicitis. Why assume it must be "bad food?" It could be but there's no way to know without some objective way of finding out. These kinds of nonspecific symptoms could well be your own depression or anxiety. When randomized controlled trials are done it is precisely to weed out such personal bias and let only treatment effects come through (though even randomized trials are not perfect). They have not shown that botox or dysport causes these kinds of effects. Otherwise the FDA would not have approved it.
This kind of reaction to an event happens in the positive also. Doctors frequently give antibiotics unnecessarily to people with viral infections. Typically, such patients will say that the antibiotics worked because they got better! (because they would have gotten better without antibiotics anyway). Only a randomized trial can tell whether there is a difference between treatment and no-treatment groups.
This same problem happened to silicone breast implants. Because they were so common, a lot of women got them. Of those women, some got various autoimmune diseases. There was such an outcry, that silicone breast implants got banned. After the ban, upon careful review of the data, it turned out that there was no increase in frequency of autoimmune disease compared to background control. Silicone breast implants were maligned unfairly. We should be wary of doing the same to other tools we use that benefit us. |

Tatoo MD,
Funny how all of us are reporting the same symtoms that started immediately after Botox. I was healthy and just perfect before I had this procedure . I had no stress and was having a wonderful summer. The procedure was done easily and no complications. The day after Botox woke up with nausea upset stomach, anxiety heart palpitations and all the other symptoms . I am 100% certain it was the botox. All of these symptoms are not going to come on suddenly for so many of us who were completely healthy until we received this injection. This many posts on this forum are proof enough that some of us are getting adverse reactions. It may be related to how much we are getting where injected , our body chemistry etc or other factors but it most certainly did cause problems for all of us. Maybe if you were in our shoes and suddenly got very sick and lost your life for 6 months plus after botulism toxin was injected into you then you would feel differently. |
