I got botox for the second time 3 days ago in my forehead and between the eyebrows and that same day I noticed, which hadn't happened the first time I had it, that the skin under my eyebrows appeared swollen and had dropped downwards covering nearly my entire eyelid.
The doctor said to give it a week but I contacted him only the day after the treatment and he said it couldn't be the botox as it takes a few days to kick in and that it is a fluid swelling or possibly a slight allergic reaction. He recommended a natural cream which I've been using but its mainly for bruising which I don't really have.
I'm really worried as I'm getting married in 4 and a half weeks and this skin is covering most of my eyelid meaning I can't put eyeshadow or eyeliner on like I used to.
Has anyone experienced simular or know the possible outcomes? |

Hi Katlou
I read your story and know exactly how you feel. I had botox for 1st time 3 weeks ago. After 4 days I had awful movement on side of head so was topped up. 5 days later my eyelid is drooping half across my eye. Its now nearly 2 weeks post tratement. I get married 2 WEEKS TODAY. I saw my physican yesterday, he has been doing botox 5 years and its the 1st time its happened. He spoke to lots of his colleagues and this is what he has recommended.
Iopidine drops x4 a day (I get them tomrrow).
Lots of head movement.
Saunas./hot baths
lots of exercise
Massage
If I do this he said his peers have said there can be 90% restoration in 2 weeks. He doesn't know what to expect. My ownly saving grace is that at least botox isn't injecyed in the reflexor muscle in the eye, it just tracts there so in theory will go way before the rest of the botox goes. Do I wish I hadn't had botox? Do I ever! I hope this helps, will look out for you on here, if you or anyone else has any other tips PLEASE share!!! |

Well I had the botox on April 1st and its now July 3rd (3 months after) and my wedding was on May 7th and I can report that my drooping brows are STILL the same as they were 3 months ago!
There were a few tears but I had to get over it and get married. I did my own wedding make up as I do this for my profession anyway and I did struggle as the skin under my brow covers most of my eyelid. (I know it does on some people naturally but never did on me) I never wear much make up anymore and I always used to wear eyeliner on my upper eyelid but can't anymore as the brow skin covers up the line.
I was reassured that eventually my brows would return to normal and after a few weeks there did seem a very slight improvement but the other day I noticed it seemed worse, like when I first had the botox and drooping brow, so it feels like I'm back to square one. I'm starting to get movement back in my forehead but not much in between my brows yet so I'm hoping I still have some more time to wait out! |

hey all,
so I'm approaching the 5 month mark now since I had the botox and the lines on my forehead have appeared again, and I can just about frown again but STILL NO IMPROVEMENT on my sagging brows! :'( The skin still covers most of my entire eyelid. I've been wearing hardly any make up for months and make up is part of my profession!
I'm now getting worried that this is a PERMANENT side effect. I've not found anything or anyone who has had a permanent side effect like this but everyone seems to say when the botox wears off, so does the side effect. Most say botox lasts 3-4 months but can last up to 6 months. It lasted a long time on me the first time I had it so I'm hoping and praying within a month or so it starts to go back to normal!
Anyone know anything about this? any advice? |
